Ms. Eilish’s statement is typical liberal 'doctrine'; a doctrine that inundates the Hollywood and music industries! Because liberalism is a 'doctrine' of the religion of atheism, Billie Eilish’s statement illustrates the godlessness of liberalism.
Before we get to God’s view, let’s examine the “Nobody is Illegal on Stolen Land” argument, which is derived from the “America is stolen land” argument, which rests on two false premises: 1.‘The First” argument 2.‘The Ancestral Land’ argument ‘The First’ argument goes like this: ‘The Indians were here ‘first’, and the evil colonists came along later and, through deception, sabotage, and murder, stole the land from the naïve and peaceful Indians!’ The false premise is: ‘whoever was on the land FIRST is/are the rightful owners of that land (property)!’ I would like to offer two rebuttals. Rebuttal A.‘Might makes right.’ At the time of the arrival of the Europeans in Jamestown and Plymouth, there was no legal authority, and therefore no laws governing land/property ownership. America was populated by thousands of Indian tribes, and the ‘might makes right’ law, a.k.a. ‘law of the sin nature’(Rom8:3-8), was the law that dominated human existence--not just in America--but all over the world! Indian tribes often followed animals hunted for their survival, i.e., hunting and gathering; or they might do some primitive farming, which, when the ground no longer produced as they desired---they moved the tribe! If someone was on that land, the law of ‘might makes right’ kicked in! Like other human tribes all over the world, war often determined land ownership! Therefore, land existed in an everlasting flux! There was no such law as: “We were here first, therefore we own the land!” Rebuttal B. To be totally honest, the ‘we-were-here-first’ argument is simply childish, i.e. immaturity at best! For example, a couple of years ago, my wife tried to park in a parking spot in downtown Naperville, the city where we live. As she turned into the spot, a woman was standing in the middle of the parking spot and refused to move because she was saving it for a friend. A big argument ensued, the police had to be called, and the woman was arrested. What was her argument? “I was here first!” I have seen “The First” argument used in churches over seating; in restaurants with bars, where bronze name tags are literally attached to seats, and in many other scenarios. Simply, it is immaturity! Finally, when Ms. Eilish made her statement, social media ferociously attacked her hypocrisy by challenging her to immediately abandon her $5.4 million California mansion, which sits on the land of the Tongva Tribe…who owned the land FIRST!! Incredibly, even a Tongva spokesperson, who subscribes to the same ‘The First’ false premise, got involved, declaring, “As the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated in our ancestral land.” He continues, “Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property… we do value the instance when public figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.” The Tongva spokesmen offered me a perfect lead-in to my second false premise: ‘The Ancestral Land’ argument. Driving Ms. Eilish's statement, “Nobody is Illegal on Stolen Land” is the argument ‘America is Stolen land’. Without a second thought, the Tongve spokesman very naturally and easily declared: “…her home is situated in our ancestral land.” The false premise is as follows: Because the Tongve tribe once occupied the land in the ‘Los Angeles basin’, where Ms. Eilish now lives, makes it forever the land of the Tongve tribe! My initial response is: ‘Says who?!?!’ God certainly never said anything like this! And, as far as I am aware, no ‘Ancestral Land’ law exists—it’s a complete invention—created out of whole cloth to justify a claim to land where there is none! And, what’s more...if in fact an ‘Ancestral Land’ law did exist, which I repeat is interpreted as: if an individual or group owns land, they forever own that land; and if someone else now lives on that land, they must return it! Can you imagine if this law were ever enforced? It would lead to the greatest land or property transfer back and forth …in the history of the world! And, what’s worse, it would destroy the economies of the world! Why? Because it would destroy productivity! How can any land be made to produce if it is constantly being transferred back and forth between people? Especially between people who have no idea how to make it produce? Can you imagine farmers having to turn over their land to people who have never farmed? I mean, businesses would be destroyed because they rest on land, which would have to be returned to people who have never run a business—all because of some invented ‘Ancestral Land’ law?!?!? I repeat, it is possible to make land produce when it is being passed back and forth! Land exchanging hands as the term 'Ancestral Land' requires, would be unworkable even for people who were experts in making the land produce!!! Why? People who have skills in one area do not mean they have skills in another area! 'Ancestral Land' is a nightmare! Lastly, but most importantly, what does God think about land, including the land of America? First, as I just mentioned, the first command God gave man was to be ‘fruitful’, which means to be ‘productive’ (Gen1:26-28). Therefore, God gave land to mankind to produce! In Genesis 10:5, God revealed the nations of the world, declaring, “By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; everyone after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.” Subsequently, God reveals more detail in Deuteronomy 32:8: “When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.” Acts 17:26,27 confirms Deuteronomy 32:8. As further confirmation, when Israel sinned in 722BC, God kicked them out of their land! In 607BC, 597BC, and 586 BC, God kicked Judah out of their land for sin! And finally, the Gentile nation of Babylon lost its nation and land…because of their sin! Therefore, God blesses nations by giving them land. And, through God’s righteous judgment, when a nation reaches a certain level of sin, He judges that nation by removing them from their land! In short…God is Sovereign over the land, and either gifts or removes that land to nations, according to His perfect justice! “The Lord is righteous (just) in all His ways…” -Ps145:17 “…For all His ways are just…and without injustice” -Deut32:4 In conclusion, To Ms. Eilish: there is bad news and good news. Bad news: Your statement: “Nobody is Illegal on Stolen Land,” is completely false. Good news: On the contrary, in spite of your foolish statement, you don’t have to move out of your house!
