Anytime the “separation of Church and State” is mentioned, Thomas Jefferson must be part of the debate. Interestingly (and incredibly), the only part of Thomas Jefferson’s life and work considered worthy by liberalism is his use of the term ‘separation of church and state’. Remember, Thomas Jefferson owned slaves, to which liberals hold their nose only for the purpose of using his “separation of church and state”!!! In other words, liberalism would love to disrespect Thomas Jefferson like they disrespect all the other Founding Fathers: ‘old dead White men’: who were racists, patriarchs (women haters), and homophobes…but they need his ‘separation of church and state’ to complete their higher objective, which is to legally remove Christianity(Bible)—for which they reserve their most fervent hatred—from public view!
Once again, liberalism reverts to their primary form of deception: “word manipulation” in order to ‘use’ Thomas Jefferson for their sinister objectives. For example, as I have already pointed out in the previous tidbits, liberals not only cunningly transform the term ‘separation of church and state’ into ‘separation of God from the state’, but they: 1.usurp Thomas Jefferson’s name for the necessary moral credibility to support their fraudulent interpretation. For example, they may declare something like, “Thomas Jefferson used it…!” or, “Thomas Jefferson wrote it…!” or, “In Thomas Jefferson’s own words…!” 2.intentionally focus attention on the word “separation” in order to separate God out from the culture. 3.ignore Jefferson’s intent for the term ‘separation of church and state’; and more importantly, they ignore Richard Hooker’s intent, who originated the term. 4.ignore Jefferson’s personal and public life—relative to the use of the term Allow me cite just one example of liberalism’s deception. As President of the United States(1801-1809), Thomas Jefferson, the one liberals call THE AUTHOR of the ‘separation of church and state’, asked the Congress of United States--who by the way obliged—to ratify a treaty with the Kaskaskia Indians on December 3, 1803. The treaty stated: "And whereas the greater part of the said tribe have been baptized and received into the Catholic Church, to which they are much attached, the United States will give annually, for seven years, one hundred dollars toward the support of a priest of that religion, who will engage to perform for said tribe the duties of his office, and also to instruct as many of their children as possible, in the rudiments of literature, and the United States will further give the sum of three hundred dollars, to assist the said tribe in the erection of a church." Prior to this treaty, on April 26, 1802, Thomas Jefferson extended an 1787 act of Congress, which designated: "For the sole use of Christian Indians and the Moravian Brethren missionaries for civilizing the Indians and promoting Christianity." In 1806 and 1807, the same or similar treaties were extended to two other Indian tribes: the Wyandotte and Cherokee tribes. For emphasis, let’s re-examine and repeat these facts! Before Thomas Jefferson became president, the Congress of the United states endorsed and sent Moravian Brethren missionaries to the Indian tribes, “for civilizing the Indians and promoting Christianity." AND, Thomas Jefferson, the author of the separation of church and state, not only agreed with this policy—but continued it!!!! While Thomas Jefferson, the author of the separation of church and state, was president of the United States, both he and the Congress of the United States endorsed the following: 1.Kaskaskia Indians. a.sent a Catholic priest to the Kaskaskia Indians b.paid the priest with government monies $100 per year for seven years c.built a church for the Kaskaskias d.paid $300 for the church’s erection with government monies 2.Repeated what they did for the Kaskaskia Indians for the: a.Wyandotte Indian tribe b.Cherokee Indian tribe --Does this Thomas Jefferson sound like the Thomas Jefferson liberals ‘use’ to reject nativity scenes, crosses, or anything Christian on government property…or in public view? --Does this Thomas Jefferson sound like the Thomas Jefferson liberals ‘use’ to prevent young people from speaking about Christ at their graduation ceremonies? --Does this Thomas Jefferson sound like the Thomas Jefferson liberals ‘use’ to support the rejection of Bible passages by our Air Force or Navy? --Does this Thomas Jefferson sound like the Thomas Jefferson liberals ‘use’ to support the rejection of God, the Bible, and Christianity from public schools? --Does this Thomas Jefferson sound like the Thomas Jefferson liberals ‘use’ to support transforming the ‘separation of church and state’ into the ‘separation of God from the state’? On the contrary, The God of the Bible--Who is the only true God--can be separated from nothing! --He alone holds all things together by the Word of His power (Heb1:3; Col1:17) --He alone is omnipresent(Pro15:3)! --He alone is the only sovereign(1Tim6:15; Ps115:3; Is14:24,27)! --He alone must be lifted-up over all(Jn12:32)! --He alone possesses all power (Mat28:18)! --He alone rules over all (Ps99:1; Ps93:1)! --To Him alone will every knee bow, and every tongue confess Him Lord(Phil2:10,11)! --Before Him alone, the nations—in all their glory--are less than nothing(Is40:17)! As established in Tidbit 2 of this series, using their patented ‘word manipulation’ method, liberalism changed: ‘the separation of church and state’ to ‘the separation of God from the state’. How? By using the fallacious 1947 Supreme Court decision in Emerson vs Board of Education; which by the way, is now used as a battering ram to smash any vestiges of God, Jesus, or the Bible, from public discourse.
Some of the greatest evidence refuting the liberal propaganda of the liberal definition of the separation of church and state, are the original state constitutions. The following are taken from the founding documents of the states*: 1.Alabama 1901, Preamble. “We the people of the State of Alabama ... invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish the following Constitution ...” 2.Alaska 1956, Preamble. “We, the people of Alaska, grateful to God and to those who founded our nation and pioneered this great land ...” 3.Arizona 1911, Preamble. “We, the people of the State of Arizona, grateful to Almighty God for our liberties, do ordain this Constitution ...” 4.Arkansas 1874, Preamble. “We, the people of the State of Arkansas, grateful to Almighty God for the privilege of choosing our own form of government ...” 5.California 1879, Preamble. “We, the People of the State of California, grateful to Almighty God for our freedom ...” 6. Because of deception, the authentic, diehard liberal has two responses to this irrefutable information: 1.Ignore and suppress it (Rom1:18-“suppress the truth”) 2.Ask: “Ok…but ‘which’ God?” The second argument is called a “red herring”, which seeks to divert attention away from the original topic because it cannot be reasoned away. In conclusion, liberalism is a doctrine of atheism, which seeks to remove our God’s great name from the culture, rather than lifting it up(Ex17:15; Jn12:32)!! *Credit to historian William Federer QuoteBit "It is only as we develop others that we permanently succeed." - Harvey S. Firestone To make my case, I began the exploration of Emerson’s 1947 Supreme court decision using the Bible(Word of God), because it is the foundation for all truth (Jn17:17; Jn1:14;Jn14:6).However, moving forward, I would now like to cite historical evidences to further establish my case.
In 1854, following a year of extensive investigation into the contention that the United States is not founded upon Christianity the ‘United States Congress’ declared, “Had the people during the revolution ever had a suspicion of an attempt to war against Christianity, that revolution would have been strangled in its cradle. At the time of the adoption of the Constitution and the amendments, the universal sentiment was Christianity should be encouraged, but not any one denomination. In this age, there can be no substitute for Christianity. It was the religion of the founders of the republic, and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendents.” Nearly 40 years later in the 1892 Trinity case, the topic arose again, but this time the ‘Supreme Count’ (SCOTUS) took on the challenge, conducting a thorough study of American history and citing over 60 historical precedents. The ‘Supreme Court of the United States’ concluded: “There is no dissidence in these declarations. There is a universal language pervading them all having one meaning, they affirm and reaffirm that this is a religious nation. This is a Christian nation.” Nearly 100 years later, the topic arose again. In 1985, University of Houston political science professors Donald Lutz and Charles Hyneman published a monumental work taking ten years. In excess of 15,000 items were included in their findings: 2,200 books, newspaper articles, pamphlets and monographs of political materials. The parameters for the study items were set between the years of 1760-1805. The point of this massive undertaking was to uncover ‘who’ the constitutional framers quoted most often. Their conclusions produced three men most often cited by our Founding Fathers: 1) Barron Charles Montesquieu (1689-1755)- 8% 2) William Blackstone (1723-80)- 8% 3) John Locke (1632-1704)- 3% However, the fourth was by far the most intriguing: 4) Bible- 34% I repeat, Lutz and Hyneman concluded a 10-year study finding that the Founding Fathers of America used ‘DIRECT REFERENCES’ from the Bible the vast majority of the time to support their conclusions on government! Just in case you are wondering, ‘ALL’ three of the aforementioned men believed in an indivisible connection between law and morality. In other words, they all believed that morality originated in the Judaeo-Christian ethic, which they concluded is the foundation for law! As a quick example, John Locke wrote the “Treatise of Government”, where he used over one thousand Bible verses to support his conclusions. And, William Blackstone’s Law books, which for decades were used as the standard for law schools all across America, were read by atheist at the time, Charles Finney(1792-1895). He read so many Bible verses in Blackstone’s law books, that he decided to read the Bible for himself. As a consequence of studying the Bible, he gave his life to Christ, dropped his study of law, and became one of America’s greatest Christian evangelists!!! Allow me to repeat that: William Blackstone’s law books, which for decades were used in America’s law schools to train lawyers and judges—were instrumental in leading Charles Finney to Christ!!! Ironically, and tragically, these are the same law schools that ‘now’ produce lawyers and judges that have adopted Emerson’s 1947 liberal separation of church and state!!! As a side note, Reverend Finney also served as the second president (1851-1866) of Oberlin college in Ohio, which at the time was a bastion for the abolition movement. Allow me to conclude by asking a silly rhetorical question: Does any of this sound like a ‘separation of God from the state’?* *As established in Tidbit 2, using their patented ‘word manipulation’ method, liberalism changed: ‘the separation of church and state’ to ‘the separation of God from the state’—allowing them to use Emerson as a battering ram to smash any vestiges of God, Jesus, or the Bible, from public discourse.
