To whom are we to offer thanksgiving? The Indians? The Pilgrims? Buddha? Muhammad? ACLU? Planned Parenthood? Maybe just to practice a little gratefulness? Let the very words of the Founding Fathers inform us of the direction of their gratitude:
1.In the summer of 1620, the English settlers left Europe in the Mayflower bound for the fledgling Virginia colony. Instead, they were blown off-course to Plymouth Rock at Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The records of William Bradford, governor of Plymouth Plantation, describe the Pilgrims' arrival in November 1620: “Being thus arrived in a good harbor, and brought safe to land, they fell upon their knees and blessed the God of Heaven who had brought them over the vast and furious ocean, and delivered them from all the perils and miseries thereof, again to set their feet on the firm and stable earth, their proper element.” 2.Two years later, Gov. Bradford publicly proclaimed another Thanksgiving celebration for Nov. 29, 1623, asking “that all Pilgrims, with your wives and little ones, do gather at the meeting house ... there to listen to the pastor and render thanksgiving to Almighty God for all His blessings.” 3.November 1,1777- Continental Congress issued The First National Proclamation of Thanksgiving, extending to all colonies, as a result of their victory at Saratoga In this proclamation they “…recommended to the legislative and executive powers of the United States, to set apart Thursday, the Eighteenth day of December next, for the solemn thanksgiving and praise:” “Forasmuch as it is the indispensable duty of all men to adore the superintending Providence of Almighty God; to acknowledge with gratitude their obligation to Him…” “That with one heart and one voice the good people…may join the penitent confession of their manifold sins, whereby they forfeited every favour, and their humble and earnest supplication that it may please God, through the merits of Jesus Christ, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of remembrance;” “That it may please Him, to prosper the trade and manufactures of the people…and to prosper the means of religion for the promotion and enlargement of that kingdom which consisteth “in righteous, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.” 4.During the period of 1779-1781, Thomas Jefferson served as Governor of Virginia, where he proclaimed a day of Public solemn Thanksgiving and prayer to Almighty God. 5.The Continental Congress October 18, 1780 issued a Proclamation for a Day of Public Thanksgiving and Prayer, after the plot of Benedict Arnold was unveiled. 6.On November 8, 1783, governor John Hancock, from Boston, Massachusetts, issued A Proclamation for a Day of Thanksgiving to celebrate the conclusion of the Revolutionary War. 7.On October 19, 1781, the British troops under Lord Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown. The following day General George Washington called for a day of thanksgiving to God. 8.John Langdon, as President (Governor) of New Hampshire, made an official proclamation for a General Thanksgiving on October 21, 1785. Langdon had a goal of putting a Bible into every home in New Hampshire. 9.The Congress of the United States September 25, 1789, unanimously approved a resolution asking President Washington to proclaim a National Day of Thanksgiving: To Your Abundance, Pastor Derrick Jackson P.S. In Galatians 5:19, one of the works of the flesh described is lasciviousness—which means, license, sexual excess, without restraint, etc. In reality, it depicts a freedom to sin. Tragically, the freedom to sin always descends into greater and greater depravity ending with body, soul, and spiritual destruction.
This lays the foundation for this tidbit. Because liberalism rejects God, its fundamental evil is lasciviousness. In this context, I want to unveil what I call the ‘Descent of Liberal Reason’. As liberalism descends toward its final destination, it grows increasingly more irrational and evil, both philosophically and practically. In this tidbit, I offer ‘one’ of its philosophical descents. The Descent of Liberal Reason: ---Liberals use diversity to promote inclusiveness, which they use to re-define equality. For example, instead of equality meaning equal in nature, it now means equal in number. ---From this error, liberalism reasons in order to be inclusive, a university ought to have the same percentage of minorities as the national average. For example, if America is 13% African-American, in order to be inclusive, i.e.diverse, Black school enrollment should also reflect this national number. ---From this error, in order to increase the numbers of Blacks and Hispanics at their schools, universities lower standards for enrollment. For example, instead of basing enrollment on historical standards like ACT, SAT, or GPA, many universities now require an essay. ---From this error, in order to permanently retain this new lowered standard, the universities simply declare all previous historical standards racist; because those old standards, they argue, only serve to increase white enrollment, while simultaneously restricting Black and Hispanic enrollment. ---From this error, unimaginably, the spiral downward continues as they reason certain traditional academic disciplines themselves racist…and therefore need of change to meet their new invented standards. Here are two quick examples. In order to attract more minorities and women, some universities have gone so far as to declare certain curriculum racist. First, a math professor at the University of Illinois wrote, "mathematics itself operates as Whiteness." She says that the ability to solve algebra and geometry problems perpetuates "unearned privilege" among whites. Second, “A professor at Purdue University's School of Engineering Education published an article in a peer-reviewed journal positing that academic rigor is a "dirty deed" that upholds "white male heterosexual privilege," adding that "scientific knowledge itself is gendered, raced, and colonizing." Let’s examine these claims in light of my theory “The Descent of Liberal Reason”. The liberal thinking of the U. of I. professor is the obvious end of a series of warped conclusions. For example, because she believes diversity is America’s highest value, which climaxes in her desire for inclusiveness, she must find someone to blame for her perception that Blacks don’t mix well with algebra and geometry. Because Blacks have historically been discriminated against in America, to satisfy her sense of justice*, her liberal worldview immediately offers the incredible following revelation: Blacks + poor grades in math = White supremacy!! All I can say is: “WOW!!” Although I would love to continue along this line, I need to uncover the professor’s (and liberalism’s)—dirty, little, hidden-in-full-view, secret: racism! The two previous examples are great illustrations of what I call ‘Liberal Racism’! For example, the U. of I. professor’s connection of White supremacy to math is so outrageous, that the shock of it completely covers her hidden racism. And, what is that racism? The racist logic that Blacks are mentally incapable** of achieving in algebra and geometry! And therefore, like an owner pets his dog, Black people need ‘THE’ liberal stroke: “Aww…poor little Black people…you really need “OUR” help to make it”. I’m so happy to report, two concluding contrary points: 1.Humans (including Blacks), possess the image and likeness of God(Gen1:28), and thereby possess the potential to commune with a God Who is omniscient! Earth to liberals… communing with an infinite God requires intelligence! Furthermore, humans (including Blacks) have been given the mind of Christ(1Cor2:16). Do you think the Creator of the universe, i.e.Jesus, has a problem with algebra? 2.Blackness does not make people stupid—liberalism does! *I would say it’s more like revenge **To be direct: “too stupid” might be better a better description Last time, I wrote that liberalism declares all religions equal (by which they mean the same). I counter with two points:
1.All religions are not the same, as I pointed-out in part 3 2.Liberalism lies when it declares all religions the same because it uses the “separation of church and state” against Christianity. Let’s take a quick look at the “separation of church and state”. If God, the Bible, Christ, is mentioned in public, the immediate “shut-down” for liberals is to scream, “SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE”. This strategy allows liberals to ignore God’s word, effectively removing God’s viewpoint from public discourse. This is horrific because to reject God; Who is light(Jn1:4); and Who lightens every man(Jn1:9); by default leaves only darkness! If we look at the results of this error on our present culture, we find Isaiah 5:20, right before our eyes: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness…” I repeat, the number ‘1’ reason for the evil now pervading our culture is the rejection of the Judaeo/Christian ethic, which I repeat, liberalism accomplishes through imposing their re-definition of ‘the separation of church and state’!! Allow me to explain further. In 1947, in the case Everson vs Board of Education, in the name of religious pluralism, a.k.a. religious diversity, a.k.a. all religions are the same, the SCOTUS extracted 8 words from Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists: “a wall of separation between church and state.” By creating a new definition, and by removing the words from their context, the liberal court arrived at what is arguably the worst decision in SCOTUS history!!! Inventing a new name for their new creation: “the Establishment Clause”, the Supreme court declared, “That wall must be kept high and impregnable.” Through their erroneous re-definition and application, liberalism has successfully white-washed much of the Judaeo/Christian ethic, and thereby any reference to God, or the Bible from public view!! Problem number 1: God’s name is Jehovah Nissi; which means banner, or flag. This incredible Name of God was revealed to us in Exodus 17:15, when Moses built an altar to the Lord after defeating the Amalekites. When Moses lifted the rod of God over the battle, Israel prevailed, when Moses grew tired and lowered his hands, Amalek prevailed. So, Aaron and Hur came along side Moses, and helped him to sustain his raised hands. The result was an Israel victory! The lesson is obvious! The Creator God, Who alone is the Sovereign, and Who alone reigns, must be lifted-up in a culture! The Word of God clearly states, -Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people -Pro14:34 - Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD… -Ps33:12 - One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness -Ps145:4,6 - They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. – Ps145:11,12 And finally, Jesus boldly declared: - And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. -Jn12:32 Problem number 2 What then does the ‘separation of church and state’ actually mean? First, the term was coined by English priest Richard Hooker (1554-1600). In other words, the phrase: “separation of church and state” is a Bible doctrine!!! Read that again!! Contrary to liberalism, you can’t use a Bible doctrine against the Bible! The very idea is contradictory and irrational!! Mr. Hooker extracted the doctrine from Jesus in Matthew 22:21, where Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” Obviously, Jesus’ point was not to remove God from government!* How could He think that when God rules over governments (Is9:6)?! The Bible declares Jesus to be the ‘King’ of kings (1Tim6:15)—which is government terminology! God alone is the Supreme Judge (Jud11:27)…who judges nations (Mat25:32)! Furthermore, because God created all things, He gives purpose to those things. Therefore, because God created both the ‘church’ and ‘the state’; as their Creator, He has the right to give His sovereign purpose to both! I repeat, the purposes of both ‘the church’ and ‘the state’ are different, and God designed neither to usurp the purpose of the other. This was Jesus’ point; Pastor Hooker’s point; and Thomas Jefferson’s point to the Danbury Baptists!!!! However, using ‘word manipulation’--liberal’s number one tactic of deception--they re-defined the word “church” in the ‘separation of church and state’. Whereas, up until 1947, the definition of “church” meant, “a federally established denomination”**, after the Everson case, the word “church” was re-interpreted to mean “a religious activity in public”. Hence, liberalism has since done everything possible to scrub anything “Christian” from American culture!*** For space sake, allow me to offer the smallest example. Both government and businesses have created laws prohibiting, “Merry Christmas!” Why? Because liberals believe even saying the words, “Merry Christmas!” to be a religious activity in public!! Obviously, wishing someone a “Merry Christmas!” has nothing to do with establishing a national denomination! But that makes no difference to liberalism because its’ objective, through Religious Diversity, using their re-definition of ‘the separation of church and state’, is to replace the Judaeo/Christian ethic with its own religion: atheism!!! Remember, every nation has a god(Ps33:12)—no exceptions--but only the nation whose God is the Lord---is blessed!!! *God can be removed from nothing! He is omnipresent (Pro15:3); …to Whom every knee shall bow(Phil2:10)! **This means no ‘Christian’ denomination, such as Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, etc., could be made the denomination of the federal government! The purpose of the original ‘separation of church and state’ was to identify the two separate purposes. AND…the purpose of the First Amendment rests on this premise, in order to limit the power of government from intervening in church affairs! This is exactly opposite of what liberals believe! ***Liberalism does not focus on anything “religious”…they focus only on anything ‘Christian’ or ‘Biblical’!!!
