Over the past four tidbits, we have looked at how voting measures three areas in America:
1.Christianity 2.America’s purpose 3.Racism We finished Racism, America’s purpose, and the first part of Christianity: 1.Word of God 2.Israel Now to move on to the second part of how voting measures Christianity in America: Israel. Allow me to offer a few illustrations using both the positive and negative of how the treatment of Israel measures one’s Christianity; and therefore, why supporting Israel is imperative for any candidate running for office at any level in America. First the positive. God told Abraham and his seed—referring to the inheritance through Isaac, and then Jacob—that He would first of all, make his family a great nation (Israel), and then ‘ALL’ of the ‘families of the earth’ would be blessed (Gen12:3) through him. “All families” refers to every nation, culture, people group, or tongue. Although I live thousands of years after Abraham, this blessing from God touches my family today. God has sovereignly chosen to bless humanity through Abraham and his seed, i.e. Israel. Confirming this Genesis 12:3 truth, is Deuteronomy 32:8: When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. Furthermore regarding the blessing of Israel, this verse teaches that God gives the nations of the world their inheritance, and sets their borders ‘according to’ the nation of Israel. In other words, God looks at the nation of Israel, counts them, remembers His covenant with them, and subsequently gives the nations their inheritance according to how He sees Israel. Both of these passages teach that everything man possesses comes through Israel. Romans 9:4 even teaches that every promise from God to man comes through Israel: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises. Of course, this would explain why Satan has attacked Israel, i.e. the Jews, so much, which brings us to the negative aspect of relating to Israel. The Abrahamic blessing of Genesis 12:3 not only contains the positive “blessing”, but also offers the revelation of the negative—or, the “curse” of God. Another confirming scripture of the Genesis 12:3 curse, is Joel 3:2: I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. The prophet Joel describes ‘one’ of the Genesis 12:3 curses: the nation, or whomever, that divides that land of Israel, or supports the anyone who divides the land…will taste of God’s wrath. Sadly, America is the most recent evidence of this great truth. Over the last several decades, God has repeatedly judged America for attempting to divide the land of Israel between the Jews and the Palestinians! And what’s worse, most Christians are woefully ignorant of this truth! Tragically, many Christians have arrogantly supported political figures who have foolishly ignored the Genesis 12:3 Abrahamic curse. For example, under President George Bush, on September 23, 2001, the White house planned to openly declare a two-state solution, dividing the land between Israel and Palestine. However, something happened on 9/1/01 at 8:46am that changed America forever; and cancelled America’s declaration of a Palestine state—do you remember? Sure you do!!! Muslim suicide bombers crashed four airliners into two World Trade Center buildings in New York City, and the Pentagon in Washington DC. Almost 3000 lives were lost, 3 billion dollars in property damage, and an estimated 3 trillion in total costs. I know…I know…you think my declaring a link between dividing the land of Israel and the 9/11 catastrophe is preposterous…right? Well, on August 23, 2005 Israel completed evicting their own people from the Gaza strip. Some of you may remember the terrible footage of the Israeli army literally dragging Jews from their homes. This Israeli policy was a product of massive pressure placed on them by the U.S. government. Interestingly, on that very day (8/23/2005) the last Jews were forcibly removed from their land in the Gaza strip, a Hurricane was conceived in the Gulf of Mexico! Wikipedia even reports, “Katrina originated over the Bahamas on August 23 from the interaction between a tropical wave and the remnants of Tropical Depression Ten.” Hurricane Katrina smashed into Gulf states, especially New Orleans, and over 1200 people perished, causing over 108 billion dollars of damage! Do you still think the link preposterous? Ok, on May 19, 2011, President Obama demanded that Israel turn over East Jerusalem, and return to the pre-1967 borders. On May 22, 2011, just 3 days later, a “super-cell” tornado, cut a path through Joplin, Missouri, ½ mile wide, and 6 miles long. Everything in its path was obliterated! Only a hospital, which lost its windows, remained standing! What about the link now? On the contrary, if you think these are coincidences, the book ‘Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel’ by William Koenig, reports dozens of incidents of America attempting to divide Israel…and God responding with catastrophes! In conclusion, considering God’s quick responses of judgment for dividing the land of Israel, everyone you choose to vote for should demonstrably be pro-Israel! If you are still unconvinced, then thank-God all His judgments so far have been regional; and pray that you and your family and not in the path of God’s wrath, the next time the President or Secretary of State decides to ignore God’s word concerning the land of Israel!!
