6.And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7.And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. -Deut6:6-7 I unequivocally declare that the greatest blessing of my life is God’s gift to me of two Christian parents!! Because of my Dad and Mom, I had the best childhood of any person I know---and I’m not exaggerating!!! As I reminisce, I literally can’t remember one thing I would change! I was loved, we had a house, I had a brother and sister, all the food I could eat, clothes, a warm bed, heat, and air conditioning. I camped out with Boys Brigade. I slept over and had sleepovers with friends. In my neighborhood, we raced our bikes and played football, basketball, and baseball. But my favorite memories are of playing ‘hide-and-seek’ at dusk!! I went to good schools and lived in an amazingly safe neighborhood—a small section of 200 Blacks in an all-white, Wheaton, Illinois. God has been so good to me! Because my parents were Christians, we went to a small Baptist church in our neighborhood. In adult service, we sang traditional hymns but it was in Sunday school that I can remember singing: Jesus loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so Little ones to Him belong, They are weak, but He is strong Chorus: Yes, Jesus loves me; Yes Jesus loves me; Yes Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so. Or, how about this one: Jesus loves the little children All the children of the world Red, and yellow, black and white* They are precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world Tragically, we live in a different world today!! While I learned the beautiful Christian children’s songs above, Palestinian parents teach their children entirely different songs because they have an entirely different god! The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; 7.Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8.Assyria also has joined with them…” Notice one of the groups is the “Ishmaelites”, whose descendants are Arabs, and contemporary Palestinians!! In verses 83:9-17 the Psalmist prays the ‘Prayer of Imprecation’, which means curse, or a prayer for God to judge perpetrators of evil. The end is the final verse of Psalms 83:18: “That they may know that You alone, whose name is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.” (NAS) My prayer is not only for Israel’s victory; but more importantly that God will use this war to cause Israel to recognize her Messiah; and the Muslims to forsake Islam and bow their knee to the only true God (Jer10:10; Jn17:3) and Savior of mankind (Is43:11; Rom10:9,10) —the Lord Jesus Christ!
