Following are the four verses written by Francis Scott Key, now known as our National Anthem. The third verse is used to declare the Anthem racist; which of course, is offered as further evidence of America’s racism. The “racist” designation in contemporary America means 'that' racist thing should be rejected and discarded.
1.O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? 2.On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, 'Tis the star- spangled banner - O long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! 3.And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. 4.O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In God is our trust," And the star- spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. My fundamental contention on this topic is that because God continually worked miracles in behalf of America at the founding, God Himself affirms America! If God affirms America…discussion is closed! For what God has blessed, no man can curse!* Let’s review some important facts: Fact 1: Francis Scott Key owned slaves. According to liberalism, this fact alone requires we hate him and reject everything he has done or said. Fact 2: Mr Key was an attorney who in 1820 defended 300 African slaves, who were captured off the coast of Florida, in the Spanish slave ship, Antelope. The case lasted 7 long years, and Key argued not only that all men are equal; but that the slaves should be returned to Africa and freedom. He boldly argued the following point before Supreme court justices who owned slaves, “by the ‘laws of nature’** all men are free!” Fact 3: Mr Key raised $11,000 (over $250,000 today) to help the slaves return to Africa. Fact 4: Mr Key helped John Adams free 53 African slaves in the Amistad case in 1841. Fact 5: Our National Motto is taken from the fourth verse of the National Anthem: “In God is our Trust”. Incredibly, the 5th fact confirms several further incontrovertible facts: i.The National Anthem and the National motto are permanently linked! ii.The National Anthem, National motto, and the American flag are permanently linked! See verse one. iii.The National Anthem, National motto, the American flag, and America are permanently linked! Obviously, points i-iii are about America, not another nation. iv.The National Anthem, National motto, the American flag, and America are permanently linked…to God! The Anthem uses God as its source. See verse 4 v.The National Anthem, National motto, the American flag, and America, are permanently linked not just to any God, but to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! See verse 4, and Key’s life. These five points confirm two critical things: 1.America was/is specifically called by God, or raised-up by God, for “such a time as this!”*** 2.To disrespect any of these is to disrespect America, AND to disrespect God’s calling! Now to attempt to explain that part of the third verse accused of ‘unforgiveable’ racism: “No refuge could save the hireling and slave”. The British empire was spread thin all over the world at the time of the War of 1812. To help fight the Americans, the British gathered as many people as possible who had any opposition to America. For example, there were still people loyal to Britain at the time; there were others willing to fight for money, hence Key’s word “hireling”; and then there were ‘some’ Black slaves who were promised freedom, if they would fight against the Americans; hence Key’s use of the word “slave”. In other words, in verse 3, Mr Key was saying that not even the use of hirelings or slaves could stop the providence of God that night at Fort McHenry!!! If you remember, at the War for Independence, there were also ‘some’ Black slaves who fought with the British, because they were offered freedom. But also remember, there were ‘many’ Blacks who fought with the Americans against the British; AND there also existed free Blacks in America at that time of the War for Independence! It is imperative to note that, the Black slaves who fought with the British in both wars, were understandably so much desiring freedom that they failed to remember that slavery was still legal in Britain! In other words, Britain’s motive was not their freedom, but to win the wars, and re-enslave America! If Britain had won either war, would they have continued to extend freedom to those slaves who fought with them? Although only God knows for certain…but how could they!?!?! How could they allow Blacks freedom, while simultaneously subjugating the Whites!?!? My opinion is: Absolutely not! The British would not have continued to offer freedom to those Blacks who fought with them simply because their initial motive no longer existed! There can be only one key to this puzzle: What was providentially in the mind of God? What was He doing? This ball of confusion cannot be unraveled without God’s mind! In short, did God consider the third verse racist, and then conclude that America should be rejected and discarded?**** The obvious answer to that question is NO! For if He did, we would not be here! Remember, the Bible is full of instances of God judging Israel for disobedience! And, when He did judge---Israel went into slavery!! (Judges, 2Chron12:1-9) My point is that the miracles of America’s founding irrefutably prove that God’s hand was, and is still, upon America--in spite of America’s past enslavement of Black people! The miracles of the founding absolutely reject the liberal mantra that America is a racist nation that should be rejected! I repeat, God Himself does not reject America! This tidbit was necessary to prepare you for the next tidbit, where I detail the actual miracle of the Battle for Fort McHenry, where Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem! *Num22:12; Num23:8 **The term “laws of nature, and of nature’s God” is included in the Declaration; yet originates in Biblical theology (Rom1:20). ***Est4:14; Mat16:3(discern the signs of the time); 1Chron12:32(sons of Issachar). ****Remember, the Anthem and America are inseparably linked through the calling of God, therefore to disrespect the Anthem, is to disrespect America, and America’s calling! Thank you Pastor Jackson for addressing this issue. So many people don't understand the call that God has placed on America and that includes everybody he has allowed to live in America. People are becoming blinded to the enemy's devices. Once again he is using the race issue to divide and conquer this nation.

Thanks pastor for always being a unapologetic voice of reason. So much of what you publish is is unknown due to individuals not finding out the truth for themselves. To rely on the media for answers is foolhardy at best. Thank you for putting factual information out for those who are misinformed or simply unimformed! God Bless you pastor for directing us and others who will listen to reason to the truth for it does in point of fact set you free!
