The ‘Natural’ Origins of White Privilege -5

   In order to understand this tidbit, please review Dr Joy DeGruy’s video, it’s only 3.48 seconds. To define WP, Dr DeGruy offers her experience at a grocery store with her young child, and her sister-in-law, who is bi-racial, but looks White. In short, the White check-out attendant allowed Dr DeGruy’s sister-in-law to easily pass through the check-out line because she looked White, but gave Dr DeGruy all kinds of trouble, by asking for several kinds of ID to verify her check, because she was Black--all the while not knowing Dr DeGruy’s sister-in-law, who passed through line before her, was Black! Dr DeGruy says not only did her daughter notice the different treatment, but so did other Whites behind her in the check-out line.
   This personal example reveals two inherent problems with WP.
1.Absolute Authoritarianism. If this situation were exactly reversed, would a Black check-out attendant be accused of Black Privilege? NO! Why? Because---according to liberalism, Blacks cannot have privilege! Why? Ironically…because of WP! Once WP is in place…no other privilege…especially Black privilege, can exist beside it!    
   Here is my point, as long as WP exists, even though the rich have privilege, the Black rich cannot have privilege! As long as WP exists, even though those with high IQ’s have privilege, Blacks with high IQ’s cannot have privilege! As long as WP exists, even though great musicians and singers would normally have privilege, Black great musicians and singers, cannot have privilege! As long as WP exists, even though Americans have privilege, Black Americans cannot have privilege!!! Why? The sovereignty of WP declares Blacks are oppressed, regardless of how rich, or what status in life they achieve; and Whites are oppressors, regardless of how poor, or little in life they experience!
   Oprah Winfrey offers the proof: “There are white people who are not as powerful as the system of white people – the caste system that's been put in place – but they still, no matter where they are on the rung, or the ladder of success, they still have their whiteness." "Whites have a leg up. You still have your whiteness. That's what the term 'white privilege' is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter. It is the fundamental issue." 
   In other words, Oprah, who is a billionaire, is still on a lower rung of the ladder than Appalachian Whites...who have a "leg-up"! Why? Oprah answers succinctly, "You still have your Whiteness!"
   WP trumps all! It allows 'NO' co-equal!!!! It takes 'NO' prisoners!!!
 
2.No Remedy. In theory, White Privilege is supposed to be evil. So, when we apply the “evil” connotation to Dr DeGruy’s experience, we would have to conclude that the White grocery check-out attendant behaved in a racist manner, right?!?! In other words, was the White check-out attendant wrong for treating Dr DeGruy differently, who is Black, from her sister-in-law who looks White? The only answer is a resounding YES!!! Of course!!! Absolutely!! But…if that White check-out attendant discriminated against Dr DeGruy, the attendant ought to apologize for her wrong behavior. In other words, if Person 1 offends Person 2, Person 1 ought to offer an apology to Person 2 to restore their relationship! Isn’t that right? Absolutely!
  I see two problems. First, some WP advocates say WP is not wrong! They argue, it’s just privilege, and lots of people have privilege!  For example, the rich have privilege; Americans have privilege; the intelligent have privilege—its’ all just privilege! So, because privilege exists, it can’t be wrong! Therefore, WP is not wrong, it just is!
   On the contrary however, WP advocates also have the leeway to take the exact opposite position*, declaring WP is wrong and should be acknowledged. They shout, “Acknowledge your WP!” intending to convey that WP is wrong. But if it is wrong and should be acknowledged, why is it that when a White person acknowledges his/her “White Privilege”…nothing happens!!! (See Tidbit 1).
   In other words, if Person 1 apologizes to Person 2 for a wrong done, then Person 2 ought to forgive that wrong done. Therefore, if the White check-out attendant apologizes to Dr DeGruy, her daughter, her sister-in-law, and the other witnesses for her bad behavior, she ought to be forgiven; and try to do better next time, isn’t that right?! YES!! Of Course!! Absolutely!
  Here is the problem. There is no remedy for WP! In other words, if the White check-out attendant apologized for her bad behavior, and Dr DeGruy forgave her, then the WP ought to be healed!! Right? YES!! Of Course!! Absolutely! However, if Dr DeGruy actually forgave the White grocery store check-out attendant’s bad behavior, their relationship would be restored, because forgiveness is designed to remove the pain of an offense, and restore broken relationships! But…if WP can be healed, it would no longer exist! The problem is that WP advocates cannot have a WP that can be healed! They need a WP that exists forever!!!  Why? Because it is ‘THE’ ingredient of victimology!!! In other words, if there is no victim of WP, there is no WP! Therefore, WP needs victimology, for without victimology, there is no basis for coercing the power and money they ultimately seek!!
  Lastly, because WP was created to have no remedy, it requires a driving component that has no remedy…and what is that? Whiteness!!!!! First, remember, WP requires Whiteness…which is why it is called WP!  Second, because a White person can never change his Whiteness, and WP requires a driving component that cannot change, Whiteness is the perfect choice. With ‘Whiteness’ as its unchanging component, WP is assured of continuing forever!!!
 
* Remember, WP is relative! Therefore, by rejecting the Law of Non-contradiction, WP can simultaneously exist as both A and non-A!
